FAO participation in the IOM Council

The 112th session of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Council took place in Geneva between 29 November and 1 December and marked the 70th anniversary of the Organization. In its statement, FAO highlighted the areas of cooperation between the two Agencies and the commitment of FAO to work further with IOM both at global and country level. 

During the Council, IOM stressed their commitment and support for the implementation of the Global Compact for Migration and the achievement of the SDGs, underscoring that migrants and displaced population should never be left behind. 

Anticipatory Action, the climate crisis, flexible funding and the humanitarian-development-peace Nexus were the topics discussed throughout the Council.
