FAO sessions at the WTO Public Forum 2022

FAO organized working sessions at this year’s WTO Public Forum held under the theme "Towards a sustainable and inclusive recovery: ambition to action" from 27 to 30 September 2022. FAO’s sessions were organized on “Safeguarding Access to Food in Times of Crisis” and “National and Global Instruments Supporting Sustainable and Responsible Fish Trade”.

Furthermore, FAO contributed to the discussions in working sessions on Food Security as a Key Element of a More Resilient, Sustainable  and Inclusive Trading System organized by the Inter Parliamentary Union and European Parliament and on The Agricultural-Livestock Production System and Trade as Part of the Solution to Climate Change co-organized by FAO, ICC, and ABIARROZ.

FAO in Geneva Director, Mr Dominique Burgeon, participated in the working session on Promoting Food Security through Trade Rules towards Sustainable Development at the WTO Public Forum organized by ABIARROZ and presented FAO’s study on the harmonization of maximum residue limits for pesticides with Codex standards using rice as a case study.
