FAO Liaison Office in Geneva

Kick start event of the FAO Geneva One Health Dialogue Series

03/11/2021

On the occasion of One Health Day 2021, celebrated on 3 November, the FAO Liaison Office with the United Nations in Geneva kick started its One Health Dialogue Series - Health through healthy agri-food systems. Speakers included Deputy Director-Generals from tripartite agencies, FAO, OIE and WHO, as well as senior officials from UNEP and the US Department of Health and Human Services.

The One Health Dialogue Series aims to increase awareness on the complexity and magnitude of the issue and ultimately help ground policy making at all levels in field realities.

Throughout 2022, the One Health Dialogue series will showcase important work carried out in Member States with support from FAO and partners, including OIE, WHO and UNEP and disseminate concrete examples of implementation of the One Health approach at the community, national, regional and global levels and discuss challenges faced during their implementation, as well as their sustainability. One Health is one of the six priority thematic areas identified by FAO in Geneva.
