SDG2 and SDG12 at the Centre of the UN summer course in Geneva

06/07/2022

FAO joined other UN agencies and partners at the United Nations 60th Graduate Study Programme (GSP) summer programme in Geneva with two presentations focusing on the work done so far and what is still needed in order to achieve the SDG2 and SDG12.

GSP is the UN's longest-running educational programme. This two-week programme run by the UN Information Service (UNIS) in Geneva brings together around 50 outstanding graduate and postgraduate students from all over the world to study the principles, goals and activities of the United Nations and its various entities, as well as of the “International Geneva” as a whole.

The 2022 edition of the programme focused on the theme "Agenda 2030 at halfway: Implementing the SDGs amidst global turbulence". A series of lectures were delivered by experts from various departments of the UN Office in Geneva as well as other Geneva-based UN specialized agencies and international organizations. The FAO in Geneva team made presentations focused on SDG 2 – Zero Hunger, jointly with WFP and on SDG 12 – Sustainable Consumption and Production, with Biovision.
