Effective communication and visibility will promote the advantages of land consolidation for farmers, landowners, and local communities, while showcasing the collaborative efforts of the European Union, FAO and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy (MAFWE) in supporting the process in North Macedonia.

Key actions include:

  • Development of a Communication and Visibility Plan aligned with the strategies of the EU and FAO. The goal is to emphasize the benefits of land consolidation for farmers, landowners, and local communities, while showcasing the joint efforts of the EU, FAO, and MAFWE in supporting the process. The project will also work on boosting the knowledge and engagement of national media and journalists to enhance visibility and support the implementation of the National Land Consolidation Programme.
  • Country-wide awareness-raising campaign on land consolidation and promotion of the new Land Consolidation Strategy 2024-2034. To support the implementation of the new National Land Consolidation Strategy for 2024-2034, the project will assist MAFWE in organizing a country-wide awareness-raising campaign, including regional workshops, local meetings, and extensive use of mass media.
  • Enhancing national capacities on land consolidation. The project will continue capacity-building efforts from the previous MAINLAND project to ensure the long-term sustainability of the National Land Consolidation Programme.

Expected results:

  • Project Communication Plan developed and implemented.
  • 20 public awareness-raising events on land consolidation.
  • 60 representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy, Agency for Real Estate Cadastre, and National Extension Agency trained.
