Kathistha Mathew is a trained Road Maintenance worker under the ILO Routine Maintenance Group (RMG) program, focusing on upskilling the rural road construction workforce and creation of decent employment opportunities in the Sepik. She and fellow villagers have been trained and hired by ILO under the STREIT PNG Programme to do routine maintenance along the Taunages-Asanokar feeder road which connects the Ambunti Drekikier District to Maprik District in East Sepik Province. Here, Kathistha shares her benefits of working in RMG.
