EU STREIT PNG PROGRAMME COCOA VALUE CHAIN SUPPORT IN THE SEPIK REGION OF PAPUA NEW GUINEA

The #FAO cocoa value chain team under the EU-funded UN Joint STREIT PNG Programme continues.

To support cocoa farm groups in the Sepik Region by:

- Establish and upgrade cocoa bud wood gardens and nurseries.

- Rehabilitate existing cocoa blocks.

- Promote climate-smart agriculture.

- Improve and rehabilitate fermentaries enterprises.

- Enhance market access.

- Strengthen women and youth inclusion.

- Strengthen capacity for adaptive research and cocoa demonstration facilities of regional technical institutions.

To improve the production and quality of cocoa beans in the East and West Sepik Provinces of #papuanewguinea.
