The Global Strategy has successfully rounded off a series of workshops that began in February, marking a significant milestone in enhancing Egypt's capabilities in statistical data dissemination. This series of workshops, expertly led by trainers Yasmine El Husseiny, Bruce Wife Nana Nana, and Somnath Sambhudas, concluded successfully, equipping participants with the expertise to cultivate and manage modern data sharing programs in the realm of official agricultural statistics.

The final chapter of the DISSEMINATION package unfolded in Cairo from 27-31 August 2023. The event brought together 17 national experts, including 14 women, from the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation (MoALR) and the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS). Additionally, a representative from the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) joined the training online, adding depth to the discussion.

The primary objective of the training was to foster a deep understanding of microdata dissemination programs, focusing on applications within the agricultural data sector. This facilitated avenues for inter-agency collaboration and sharing of experiences, addressing both the technical and organizational challenges linked to their implementation, and encouraging dialogues on strategies and solutions to expand access to agricultural data to a wider audience.

Participants engaged in vibrant discussions, refining their expertise in the vital facets and recognizing the prominent challenges of microdata dissemination programs. These practical sessions empowered participants to utilize their newly acquired knowledge in microdata anonymization through case studies, and subsequently documenting this anonymized data using Nesstar. Throughout the training, emphasis was placed on the synergy of the discussed components, illustrating that a collaborative approach could forge pathways to establish secure data confidentiality safeguards and align microdata dissemination initiatives with the highest international standards.

A crucial takeaway from the workshop was the synergy of different components that form a cohesive unit, promising confidentiality and adherence to international standards.

As this series concludes, it equips participants with the essential tools to lead modern microdata sharing initiatives within the field of official agricultural statistics. These workshops have laid a robust foundation, positioning Egypt closer to becoming a top player in global agricultural data dissemination.
