Lesotho gets technical assistance on Agricultural Production Survey

As part of the Global Strategy to improve Agricultural and Rural Statistics (GSARS), Lesotho held the first AGPROD technical discussion and training.
The training took place from 13th to 17th March 2023 in Maseru and it was led by Nayo Ankouvi from FAO HQ and opened by BOS Deputy Director who expressed his gratitude to FAO, under the GSARS-II project, for this capacity-building opportunity.
Twelve staff from the statistical system took part in the training. Seven come from the Bureau of Statistics while 4 were from the Ministry of Agriculture and one from FAO. The group was composed of 10 women and 2 men.
In addition, their perception of the facilitation of the workshop is positive, since they declared that the trainer has a good knowledge of agricultural statistics, and really appreciated the examples and illustrations provided during the discussions. So, they were very satisfied with the presentations and the relevance of the discussions.
The next mission for the pilot exercise is planned for September.
