13/04/2023

As part of the GSARSII technical assistance to Liberia, a technical workshop to design data collection tools for the agricultural production survey (AGPROD) was organized from November 20th to December 3rd, 2022.

The workshop was delivered by Nayo Ankouvi from FAO HQ in close collaboration with the facilitators from LISGIS and the MoA. For the training on AGPROD, the Country counterparts expressed their gratitude to FAO, under the GSARS-II project, for this capacity-building opportunity.

Twelve staff from the statistical system took part in the training. Five enumerators and 1 supervisor/facilitator come from the Liberia Institute of Statistics and Geo-Information Services (LISGIS), while 5 enumerators and 1 supervisor/facilitator were from the Ministry of Agriculture. The group was composed of 3 women and 9 men.

The 10 enumerators were trained based on the questionnaire and the CSPro data entry application. The objective of the exercise was to test the questionnaire for the upcoming Agricultural Census later this year by selecting and interviewing farmers. The pilot data collection was conducted from 12th to 21st of January, 2023 with the 10 enumerators divided into three teams. In total, 312 agricultural households were visited.

Data processing activities are currently going on under close collaboration with the national counterparts.
