SPSS Data Processing and Analysis training in Niger

The production of descriptive statistics and graphic representations with SPSS using agricultural survey data was at the heart of the GSARS II training workshop held in Niger from October 3 to 7.

Actors in the production of statistics for policy planning and coordination from the Ministry of Agriculture, the National Statistics Institute of Niger (Institut National de la Statistique du Niger or INS) and the Ministry of Livestock were provided with the basic expertise needed to improve the quality of statistics produced by their organizations.

Trainees are now set to become the vectors for the popularization of the methods and good practices acquired during the workshop.

This is only the beginning for GSARSII capacity development activities on the use of statistical software in Niger: the coming months will see additional sessions covering more complex statistical processes.
