Successful Workshop in Côte d’Ivoire Spearheads Modern Data Dissemination

A pivotal workshop took place in Abidjan between September 4th and 8th, 2023, marking a significant milestone in the advancement of modern data dissemination techniques in Côte d’Ivoire. The acclaimed trainer Nana Nana Bruce spearheaded the event, which brought together 12 delegates from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MINADER), the National Institute of Statistics (INS) and sub-sector offices of the National System for Agricultural Statistics (SNSA).

 

During this week-long training, participants were introduced to the essential principles of statistical dissemination and worthwhile methods for presenting agricultural statistics. The attendees, of which 25% were female, worked diligently to hone their skills in key areas such as:

 

●      Key principles of dissemination policies

●      Data documentation and archiving

●      Effective communication techniques for data presentation in publications (Reports, Statistical Notes, etc.)

 

The workshop successfully met its objective of equipping the participants with foundational knowledge on statistical dissemination and the skills necessary to craft compelling and efficient presentations of agricultural statistics. The participants were particularly receptive to the hands-on exercises and case studies centered on the creation of tables and graphics, showcasing best practices in the field.

 

Participants noted the relevance of the training to their current roles. They unanimously acknowledged the transformative impact of the workshop, highlighting the synergy between the set objectives and the actual training content. They left equipped not only with a deeper understanding but also with actionable insights to foster the evolution of statistical dissemination within their respective domains.
