FAO’s RuralInvest is a participatory, interactive and free toolkit – developed nearly two decades ago and updated regularly over the years – that helps small and medium-sized rural entrepreneurs prepare viable business plans to access funding from banks and other financing partners.

The latest version features user-friendly, multilingual software available in both cloud and offline versions, an e-learning course, tailored face-to-face training and practical user manuals.

RuralInvest has helped more than 1000 agribusinesses in 15 countries – fish farms, forestry, polyculture, rural tourism and more – grow in the last five years. It has empowered more than 500 agriculture workers with business-generation skills, and catalysed approximately USD 34 million in investment in 2022 alone, boosting rural businesses worldwide.
