Lebanon: DIEM – Data in Emergencies Monitoring brief, round 7

26/09/2024

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in collaboration with Lebanon’s Ministry of Agriculture (MoA), conducted a household survey through the Data in Emergencies Monitoring (DIEM-Monitoring) System between 5 and 25 March 2024. This seventh-round survey assessed the agricultural livelihoods and food security of farmers in Lebanon.

This brief presents the main findings of the assessment conducted in March 2024, in close collaboration with Lebanon’s Ministry of Agriculture. The assessment targeted a sample of 3 750 agricultural households across Lebanon’s governorates. The brief also presents recommendations for humanitarian actors for their planning and implementation of data-driven programmes to sustain agricultural livelihoods and build the resilience of agricultural households to future shocks, improving the food security of those living in rural areas. In addition to reading the brief, we welcome you to explore the dashboard and all of the DIEM publications produced with FAO Lebanon.
