Annika Söder, a national of Sweden, was recently appointed FAO Assistant Director-General to lead a new Office of UN Coordination and Millennium Development Goals Follow-up (UNC), in Rome. Taking stock of a her long career and extensive years of experience in the Swedish Foreign Affairs and International Development Cooperation, Ms Söder will strengthen FAO's role in the MDGs achievement.
