Towards sustainable world fisheries and aquaculture FAO Committee on Fisheries starts
Rome, 9 July 2012 ? The 30th session of the FAO Committee on Fisheries (COFI) begins today at FAO headquarters. Major international fisheries and aquaculture issues, such as the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries, will be examined and recommendations will also be addressed to governments, regional fishery bodies, NGOs, fishworkers, and the international community.

FAO urges governments for sustainable fisheries around the world, as marine fish stocks still remain under great pressure.
