The International Land Coalition (ILC) supports five community-based projects promoting the legal empowerment of rural women. Ahead of the Rio+20 Conference on Sustainable Development, projects piloted innovative ways to enhance women's land rights, identifying models for replication and scaling up as well. Women are not aware of laws and policies and they face obstacles in getting the required information, as far as a secure and equitable access to land is concerned.
