Radio in times of Emergency and Disaster

12 February 2016, Rome--- On 13 February, international broadcasters and listeners around the world celebrate World Radio Day. Radio still remains a powerful communication tool that reaches the widest audience worldwide and is specifically suited to reach remote communities and vulnerable people. It has a strong and specific role in emergency communication and disaster relief. This year’s theme for World Radio Day is “Radio in times of Emergency and Disaster”.
