Implementing the Reform of the Committee on World Food Security at regional
Last October 2009, during the 35th Session of the then Committee on World Food Security ( CFS), its members agreed on a wide-ranging reform that aims to make CFS an inclusive international and intergovernmental platform dealing with food security and nutrition. The CFS has undertaken to present its reform to all FAO Member-countries through the FAO Regional Conferences.
Following a parallel event to the FAO Regional Conference for the Near East, held last 4 to 8 December 2010, in Khartoum, Sudan, the Chair of the reformed Committee on World Food Security, Mr Noel De Luna (Philippines) said that ¿What is needed there is to expand the participation of the other actors in programmes¿.
