As part of the on-going General debate on FAO's Programme and Budget for the next two years, a High-Level Special Event on Aid for Trade and Food Security took place on Wednesday, 21 November 2007 . The purpose of this Special Event was to discuss how best to approach the mobilization of additional resources and channel these to address constraints which have impeded competitiveness and the due contribution of agricultural trade to economic growth and food security in most developing countries. Malawi made some proposals.
