10 December 2013, Rome – Organizations and companies active in food loss or waste reduction are implementing projects and initiatives world-wide to help eradicate hunger. The strategy is to build off of resources already being used, in order to cope with the demands of a growing population. Unfortunately, many efforts are overlapping between like-minded organizations unaware of each other’s efforts. To address this issue, from 10-11 December, FAO is hosting a global partnership event. International experts and stakeholders from around the world are convening this week in order to discuss ways to create synergy among initiatives and build consensus on the variety of approaches to the issues.
