New phase of FAO FLEGT Programme

A new phase of the FAO FLEGT Programme was inaugurated on May 13 at FAO Headquarters in Rome. The Programme supports the EU action plan to promote legal consumption and production of timber, improving forest governance and in turn contributing to climate change mitigation and poverty alleviation. Robert Simpson, Manager of the FAO FLEGT Programme, explains the importance of the Programme, giving examples of supported projects and an overview on future plans.
