Поддержка мелких фермерских хозяйств посредством технологических инноваций
Рим/Нанкин - Продовольственная и сельскохозяйственная организация Объединенных Наций (ФАО) и Академия сельскохозяйственных наук Цзянсу (JAAS) подписали соглашение о партнерстве, которым предусматриваются совместные усилия по поддержке мелких фермерских хозяйств посредством технологических инноваций. Сотрудничество будет посвящено созданию экологически устойчивых, устойчивых к внешним воздействиям и эффективных продовольственных систем в сельских и городских районах, а также обмену с развивающимися странами знаниями и технологиями в рамках

FAO advances Global Action to control the spread and damage of a crop-eating pest affecting millions of livelihoods
Rome - Tools are available to wrestle Fall Armyworm, a voracious invasive species that is ravaging crops in Africa, Asia and the Near East, and it is imperative to intensify coordination to curb the insect's spread.  "We will need to step up the alliance among key partners from all relevant sectors at the global level," FAO Director-General QU Dongyu said today while opening the first meeting of the Steering Committee of the Global action for Fall Armyworm Control. Rome - The 6th High-Level Strategic Dialogue between FAO and France was held from the 5 to 6 of February at FAO Headquarters. Rome - The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and Roma Tre University showcased findings from a joint study on producer organizations, highlighting strategies that can be used to ensure the inclusion of poor family farmers in cooperatives and producer organizations (POs). The study, which ran from 2018-2019, contributes both to FAO Strategic Objective 3 – Reduce rural poverty, and Pillar 4 of the United Nations Decade of Family Farming, Strengthen family farmers’ organizations and capacities to generate knowledge, represent farmers and provide inclusive services in the urban-rural continuum. Rome - FAO Director-General QU Dongyu met with Martin Kropff, Director-General of the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT).
