Joint FAO-Côte d’Ivoire Oversight Mission for the Sustainable Development of the Rice Food Chain
15 February 2017, Côte d’Ivoire - From 10 to 14 February 2017, a FAO delegation, accompanied by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, as well as officials from the National Office for Rice Development, undertook an oversight mission in Côte d'Ivoire, specifically at Grand-Lahou, Gagnoa and Yamoussoukro, to ensure the technical follow-up of the activities carried out under the South-South Cooperation (SSC) projects currently under way in the country. Chinese experts trained 400 Namibian farmers and government officials in rice, foxtail millet and horticultural production

The Minister of Agriculture, Water and Forestry to the Republic of Namibia, Hon John Mutorwa praised 15 Chinese experts seconded to Namibia to provide technical assistance for agricultural irrigation, a central veterinary laboratory and research station in a meeting regardingcompletion of the first phase, which started in April 2015 and ends next 30 April.
