Joint effort to strengthen national policies and capacity building in eight countries – Director-General meets Swedish partners
31 August 2015, Stockholm/Rome – FAO and the Swedish-based development cooperation organization We Effect have agreed to work together to strengthen small-scale forest and farm producers’ organizations in developing countries so they can access land and markets and improve the livelihoods of their members.

24 August 2015, Rome – Agencies of the United Nations and Member States will gather with groups from the private and civil society sectors to discuss South-South policy in Macao, China this week.  The three-day forum, entitled: “Scaling-up global support for South-South and Triangular Cooperation in the context of the post-2015 development agenda,” is being organized by the General Assembly High-level Committee on South-South Cooperation and other strategic partners. Kuehne Foundation and FAO signed an agreement last year to cooperate in supporting rural livelihoods through improved logistics. The combined capacities of both organizations increase the impact of their respective efforts to reduce food losses and waste. Kuehne Foundation and FAO are working together to respond to the increasing amount of crises and emergencies to increase the resilience of livelihoods from disasters. New agreement could serve as model for future public-private partnerships
8 July 2015, Rome -- Autogrill, the multinational company known for its motorway and airport restaurants in 30 countries, is partnering with FAO to cut down food waste and losses and support the introduction of products of small-scale farmers in developing countries, the UN agency announced today. Under the three-year agreement, FAO will provide Autogrill with tools to track and reduce food losses and waste across its more than 4000 stores and design information materials and campaigns to raise awareness among Autogrill customers worldwide about waste reduction.
