President Evo Morales and Director General José Graziano da Silva agree to joint proposal to Green Climate Fund
FAO is assisting Bolivia in its effort to access financial support for improved water management programs in those areas of the Andean nation that have been hardest hit by prolonged drought. At a meeting here today, FAO Director-General Jose Graziano da Silva and Bolivian President Evo Morales agreed to jointly submit a technical proposal to the UN’s Green Climate Fund requesting $250 million in support for efforts to reduce the impacts of climate change on food security and rural livelihoods in Bolivia.

Chinese experts trained 400 Namibian farmers and government officials in rice, foxtail millet and horticultural production

The Minister of Agriculture, Water and Forestry to the Republic of Namibia, Hon John Mutorwa praised 15 Chinese experts seconded to Namibia to provide technical assistance for agricultural irrigation, a central veterinary laboratory and research station in a meeting regardingcompletion of the first phase, which started in April 2015 and ends next 30 April.
