The European Association for Research on Plant Breeding (EUCARPIA), Genetic Resources Section, in association with the European Cooperative Programme for Plant Genetic Resources (ECPGR) has announced the organization of the event “Crop Diversification in a Changing World. Mobilizing the green gold of plant genetic resources'”, which will take place in Montpellier, France, from 8 to 11 May 2017.

The conference aims to increase the understanding of the challenges we face as a community of stakeholders in plant genetic resources (PGRF) conservation and sustainable use, and of opportunities for transformation in the PGR use system.

The organizers have invited for abstract submissions before 23 January 2017 on four topics :

  1. PGR conservation – in nature, in production systems and in genebanks;
  2. Breeding for diverse farming systems ‒ the roles of the formal and informal sectors;
  3. Collaborative approaches in plant breeding ‒ public‒private partnerships and
    participatory approaches;
