You will recall that the Ninth Session of the Governing Body of the International Treaty requested the Secretary to organize a Global Symposium on Farmers’ Rights to share experiences and discuss possible future work on Farmers’ Rights, and welcomed the generous offer of the Government of India to host it.

Following consultations with the Government of India, I am pleased to announce that the Global Symposium on Farmers’ Rights will be held in New Delhi, India, from 12 to 15 September 2023.
