You may recall that the Tenth Session of the Governing Body thanked the Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (CGRFA) for sharing the draft Third Report on the State of the World’s Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (Third Report) for inputs and comments and invited the Contracting Parties to provide additional comments and inputs through the process of the Commission.

We are pleased to inform you that the revised – unedited – draft of the Third Report is now available for review and comments (click here to download). 

The Third Report builds on the second global assessment, published by FAO in 2010, and analyses the progress made in the implementation of the Second Global Plan of Action for Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture, adopted by the FAO Council in 2011. Based on the findings of the Third Report, the Commission is expected to review the Second Global Plan of Action at its 20th Session in March 2025.
