Union of the Mediterranean- Financial Strategy for Water |UfM

The UfM Financial Strategy for Water was developed by the UfM member states in 2018. It provides a menu of options for UfM member states to enhance the financial sustainability of the water sector.  The UfM Financial Strategy for Water is organized about three strategic pillars: (1) adopting a strategic approach to water finance; (2) making the most from existing financial resources; and (3) attracting additional financial resources. It identifies 10 strategic objectives and 47 actions. It also includes a number of good practices, briefly described in text boxes.

The UfM will support the implementation of the Financial Strategy by making use of its convening power to provide a platform for policy dialogue, through the relevant work of the thematic task forces mandated to support the implementation of the UfM Water agenda, and through targeted work to be carried out under the umbrella of a renewed Water Financing Task Force.
