| In the case of the Dairy Industries Society International, the Committee noted that the regulations governing the granting of status contained a provision whereby, in principle, only one non-governmental organization active in a particular field should be granted specialized consultative status, and the Organization had already granted specialized consultative status to the International Dairy Federation, which had very wide contacts in the same field of activity. The Committee recognized, however,as did the Director-General, that the Society displays keen interest in FAO's activities and consequently it agreed with the Director-General's conclusion that he should offer the Society the liaison status provided for in the above-mentioned regulations. | En ce qui concerne la Société internationale des industries laitières, le Comité a noté que le règlement en matière d'admission au statut consultatif dispose que le statut consultatif spécial n'est en principe accordé qu'à une seule organisation non gouvernementale par domaine d'activité. | 4. | At the suggestion of the Director-General, the Committee considered plans for the meeting with the representatives of the non-governmental organizations attending the Eighth Session of the Conference, similar to that held at the latter's Seventh Session. | 5. | Pursuant to paragraph 4 of Section V of the “FAO Policy concerning relations with International Non-Governmental Organizations,” which provides that “the Conference shall review at each session the list of organizations approved for consultative status,” the Director-General reported to the Committee on the co-operation of all the organizations in consultative and specialized consultative status with FAO. The Committee duly carried out this review on the basis of the list submitted.
