LEGISLATION
Fees determined according to overall length of vessel and per year:
-vessel less than 30 feet (9.68m.) = $ 1 000;
-vessel between 30 feet up to 60 feet (19.36m.) = $2000;
-vessel over 60 feet = $ 4 000.

LEGISLATION
-The Minister may enter into access agreements with other states or regional organization and with associations representing foreign fishing vessel owners or charterers, providing for the allocation of fishing rights.
-Fishing rights allocated under access agreement shall not exceed the total resources or amount of fishing allowed to the appropriate category of foreign fishing vessel under the fisheries plan.
-Access agreements to include provision establishing responsibility of foreign country or association for taking necessary measures to ensure compliance by its vessels with agreement and fishing laws.

LEGISLATION
Local fishing vessel
means any fishing vessel: (a) wholly owned by the government or by any public corporation; or (b) wholly owned by one or more persons who are citizens of St. Christopher & Nevis; or (c) wholly owned by any company, society or other association of persons incorporated or established under national laws, of which at least 51 % of the voting share are held by citizens of St. Christopher & Nevis.
Locally based foreign fishing vessel means any foreign fishing vessel landing all its catch and based in St. Christopher & Nevis.

LEGISLATION
-Application shall be in a prescribed form.
-No licence shall be issued unless fees paid and adequate arrangements made for payment of royalties and other charges.
-Vessels from the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States to be registered in regional register of good standing.
-Local representative to be appointed, to act on behalf of the Master, the Owner or Charterer.
-Foreign fishing vessels not licensed under national regulation or regional access agreement shall keep fishing gear stowed in a manner as not to be readily available for fishing; with specified requirements for different category of vessels.

Licences subject to general conditions to be prescribed, or specified by notice published in the Gazette and to special conditions specified by the Minister.

Prohibition against the removal from fishery waters or possession of lobsters and turtles (from 30 April to 1 September for lobsters and from 28 February to 1 October for turtles).

% = Reports must be made every 3 days for vessels from Norway, Sweden and Faroes when fishing for herring, weekly when fishing for other species .

* = Country is a part to the South Pacific FFA arrangement which stipulates that licences will not be issued to foreign fishing vessels unless those vessels are listed in good standing on the FFA - maintained regional register of fishing vessels .
