Cover. A year of the land comes to a close in Canada. In October a brief ceremony was held at Ottawa to mark the 25th anniversary of the founding of FAO in Canada in 1945. It is fitting that the Organization was represented on this occasion not only by Director-General Addeke H. Boerma, but also by Pierre Terver, Assistant Director-General, a forester and an early member of FAO's Forestry Division. Canada's growth has been greatly founded on its forest resources and industries and Canada has always strongly supported all FAO's forestry activities.
