Emergency support project: Production of vegetables in the Sahel countries affected by the desert locusts
FAO has formulated a project aiming at improving the food security of the populations severely affected by the Desert Locust infestation through the provision of essential agricultural inputs for the production of vegetables.

Funding Summary
As of 2 June 2005, FAO had received US$67 million in cash, to which FAO had added US$6.3 million of its own funds. A further US$6.8 million has been pledged and US$2 million is currently being negotiated with donors.
