Cuba's Animal Science Institute Joins AGRIS Network, Enhancing Agricultural Research Visibility

The Animal Science Institute (ICA, in Spanish) of Cuba has recently joined the International System for Agricultural Science and Technology (AGRIS) of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, contributing new scientific knowledge to the field of agricultural research.

Founded in 1965, ICA is a Cuban public organization with two main objectives: to research topics related to animal nutrition and the development of Cuban livestock and to train professionals in the field. Its establishment was formalized in 1976, and since then, ICA has conducted comprehensive research to promote livestock development in Cuba. Currently, ICA organizes its work through a series of projects and subprojects in collaboration with other centers.

ICA's participation in agricultural research through AGRIS represents a significant advancement in enhancing the visibility of this field of study in the region. By joining the AGRIS network, the Institute further highlights the important contributions generated in a key area for the sustainable development of Cuba and the surrounding region.
