In water-scarce dry areas, safeguarding soil resources is vital as it enhances agricultural productivity, water retention and nutrient availability. It also prevents desertification and sand storms and reduces GHG emissions as well as biodiversity loss. Improving soil security helps farmers to optimize resource use and mitigate impacts of climate change.
