ABSTRACT

This document is the final report of the Fourth Session of the CIFA Sub-Committee for Lake Tanganyika, held in Rome from 25 to 27 April 1988. Major topics were: the status of the fisheries of Lake Tanganyika, evaluation of the Workshop on Fisheries Statistics for Inland Waters - Lake Tanganyika; regional cooperation for research, management and development of the fisheries of Lake Tanganyika, harmonization of fisheries legislation, and conditions of access to the fisheries of Lake Tanganyika. The main decisions, directives and recommendations are listed in Appendix D.

RESUME

On trouvera ci-après la version définitive du rapport officiel de la quatrième session du Sous-Comité du CPCA pour le lac Tanganyika, qui s'est tenue à Rome du 25 au 27 avril 1988. Les débats ont essentiellement porté sur la situation des pêcheries du lac Tanganyika, l'évaluation de l'atelier de formation aux statistiques des pêches dans les eaux intérieures - lac Tanganyika, coopération régionale pour la recherche, l'aménagement et la mise en valeur des pêcheries du lac Tanganyika, harmonisation des législations relatives à la pêche, et conditions d'accès à la pêche sur le lac Tanganyika. La liste des principales décisions, directives et recommandations qui ont été formulées figure à l'annexe D.
