The well-planned programme for the visit was kindly arranged by Dr. Jósef Kossakowski, Director, Inland Fisheries Institute, Olsztyn-Kortowo. The language problems encountered in going through Polish documents and occasionally during discussions were overcome thanks to the help of Mrs. Maria Bnińska, Inland Fisheries Institute. Thanks are also due to the many scientists and administrators who discussed their current and future work with the author in an open and friendly atmosphere.
