X. OTHER MATTERS

52. Williamson drew the attention of the Session to the lack of agreement on terminology for the young stages of eel and asked for suggestions for standardisation. He compiled a list of names for transparent and pigmented elvers in use in the languages of the participants (Annex H).

53. The Electricity Supply Board, as proprietors of the fishing rights of the River Shannon in which major progress in eel management has been made, entertained participants at a reception on the evening of 23 June.

54. The Lough Neagh Fishermen's Cooperative Society invited participants to visit their eel fishery and packing station at Toomebridge and generously provided transport and refreshments. The visitors were welcomed by the Chairman of the Society, Reverend Oliver Kennedy.

55. Selected papers from the Seventh Session of the EIFAC Working Party on Eel will be published in a single issue of the Journal Irish Fisheries Investigations. For details see instructions in Annex I.

56. It was agreed that a special poster section relating to the state of the art of eel aquaculture and eel biology in aquacultural conditions would be mounted at the 1993 meeting of the Working Party. The offer by Saroglia to organize the section and gather information from research workers was accepted.
