The Seventh Session of the EIFAC Working Party on Eel took place from 20 to 25 May 1991, Dublin, Ireland. The Session was attended by 52 participants, from 15 EIFAC member countries, Australia and China.
Altogether, 39 papers were presented, 7 papers circulated, but not presented, and three posters exhibited. The papers were grouped under the following topic sessions: Glasseel migration and abundance; Ecology: (i) early stages; (ii) population and fisheries; Methodology: (i) management aspects; (ii) biological aspects; Marine stages; Aquaculture: (i) husbandry; (ii) experimental aspects; Diseases, parasites and contamination. The Working Party concluded with the proposal to establish cooperative research groups on eel recruitment and on eel growth respectively.
