Dr. Muluken Gebretsadik
I am currently pursuing my PhD in Veterinary Microbiology
I am an academic staff member at Addis Ababa University, College of Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture, Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Veterinary Public Health. Currently, I am pursuing my Ph.D. in Veterinary Microbiology at Addis Ababa University, starting in 2022. Alongside my doctoral studies, I also hold an academic staff member position. In 2016, I completed my MSc in Veterinary Microbiology from the College of Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture at Addis Ababa University.
As a veterinary microbiologist, my research interests during my Ph.D. studies primarily revolve around bacterial and viral diseases. Specifically, I aim to gain a deeper understanding of host-pathogen interactions, perform molecular characterization of pathogens, and investigate the transmission dynamics between humans, animals, and the environment.
I have actively engaged in various training programs covering a wide range of microbiological laboratory techniques. These include conventional bacteriological isolation methods and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) testing. Additionally, I have received training in molecular biology techniques such as polymerase chain reaction (PCR), gel electrophoresis, and gene sequencing.
Furthermore, I have undergone comprehensive training in scientific paper writing and publishing, experimental design, and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP). As a result of my dedication, I have already published several articles in the field of Veterinary Microbiology.
