This national stakeholder consultation workshop is organized by the Directorate of Livestock (DIREL) of the Ministry of Livestock and Animal Production of Senegal in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to validate the results of the study “Enhancing climate actions in the livestock sector” conducted in Senegal in the context of the FAO initiative “Policy analysis to support Nationally Determined Contributions for climate action in the livestock sector” under the Letter of Agreement between FAO and DIREL. During the workshop around 90 participants from different stakeholder groups, including the Ministry of Livestock and Animal Production of Senegal, the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of Senegal, World Bank and others, will formulate country-specific recommendations to better integrate livestock targets and interventions in the nationally determined contributions of Senegal.
