14th International HCH & Pesticides Forum

The 14th International HCH and pesticide forum will be held between 21-24 February 2023 in Zaragoza, Spain. The Forum discusses the state of the art on POPs elimination 31 years after the first Forum in Zwolle, the Netherlands. The discussions on POPs elimination in the Forum are centered on two critical questions: What are the “Lessons learned” and what is the “Way forward” in addressing obsolete and POPs pesticides management. The overall aim of the Forum is to find technical and applicable solutions to the problems arising from the (former) production and application of pesticides. In the Forum, a Session Designated to Central Asia on 22 February 2023 is held to create a better understanding of the specific challenges in the Central Asia region to manage its obsolete pesticides/POPs legacy. This again helps donors to better understand and focus global and regional sources to address the issues, but also allows creating initiatives bringing together stakeholders to resolve the POPs legacy in Central Asia and improve pesticides management.
