Regional workshop to improve management of pesticides across their lifecycle

A regional workshop to improve management of pesticides across their lifecycle is to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 18 to 20 September 2023 under the frame of the FAO/GEF project “Lifecycle Management of Pesticides and Disposal of POPs Pesticides in Central Asian countries and Türkiye”. During the workshop, FAO’s comprehensive approach on pesticide lifecycle management considering all elements involved – from production of pesticides to their transport, sale, use and eventual disposal - based on the international standards and best practices will be presented to country representatives for further improvement in the national systems. On the third day of the event is to be dedicated to developing a strategy for management of obsolete pesticides in Azerbaijan and prevention from re-accumulation of obsolete pesticides in future.
