FAO launches new Food Price Index for September 2012
Rome, 6 September 2012- FAO Director-General, José Graziano da Silva, introduced the September 2012 FAO Food Price Index and the latest FAO Cereal Supply and Demand Brief, during a Press Conference held today at FAO headquarters. The August Index rebounded sharply after three months of decline.

"There is no reason for panic but we need to remain vigilant on food prices".
Graziano announces a meeting of the Agricultural Market Information System (AMIS), next 15 October, in Rome.
