FAO Health Services support

FAO Health Services (CSLH) supports events organized on FAO premises through the provision of stand-by emergency services. The medical unit is located in Building B first floor, office 162, extension: 53577. For medical emergencies, dial 30 from all in-house telephones. For all other medical services, call ext. 53577 from in-house telephones (06 57053577) from outside FAO headquarters.

Please be informed about the following guidelines: 

  1. Medical and first aid services will be available at the Conference premises during the sessions’ activities.
  2. Participants who are not feeling well or need medical attention while at the HQ meeting are to contact FAO Security or Protocol to be guided accordingly.
  3. The stand-by emergency medical team will attend requests for first aid assistance and, if needed, will take the patient to the nearest public hospital emergency services as per the protocol in Italy. Kindly, ensure that you carry your health insurance card on you, and you are expected to handle financial aspects of your healthcare by yourself.
  4. Participants who are using regular medications or supplements, or who are following any other regular healthcare are kindly to ensure that they have enough supply during the period of the conference and/or have done the necessary medical check-ups before travelling to Italy.
  5. Participants who have flu symptoms, even if mild (e.g., temperature of more than 37.5°C, general body aches and pains, cough, strong headache, runny nose, or sore throat) are requested to stay home and seek medical attention.
  6. Emergency medical number in the city of Rome is 112.
