At the 2024 WFF flagship event, the FAO food loss and waste reduction initiatives have been showcased during the week in the form of a 3D models exhibit and the launch of the Foow waste reduction challenge internactive game released in occasion of the fifth observance of the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste.

International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste global event highlights the critical need for financing and collaboration across the agrifood value chain

The fifth observance will highlight the critical need for financing to bolster efforts to reduce food loss and waste, contribute to achieving climate goals and advancing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) hosted by the United Arab Emirates in Dubai will take place between 30 November and 12 December. The Conference is set to be a landmark event in the global effort to combat climate change and ensure food security for present and future generations.

The conference took place between 24-27 April 2023 in Ha Noi, Viet Nam, convening over 350 on-site and 1000 virtual participants from a range of actor groups. The conference focused on how food systems need to be transformed to overcome the multiple deeply rooted and interlinked crises.
