Mr. Oleg Kobiakov, Director of the FAO Liaison Office with the Russian Federation, delivered a video message of greetings to the FAO important partner, Bashkir State University that celebrates today its 110th anniversary:

“For over a century, the Bashkir State University has been training highly qualified specialists, whose interests cover the entire palette of knowledge – from mathematics and natural sciences to humanities.

Taking into account the purpose of FAO to serve as a repository and source of technical know-how and expertise, we are pleased to commend the University's educational programs and research that combine advanced digital technologies and the study of genetics, personalized medicine and philology, teaching languages and sharing a common multicultural heritage,” said Oleg Kobiakov.

“We extend our gratitude to the Bashkir State University for the group of undergraduates who recently had a training in our office. They provided us with valuable technical assistance and, I hope, got the feel of the nature of FAO's activities in Russia, the mandate and mission of our Organization, in particular related to the 2030 Agenda implementation,” said the Director of the FAO Moscow Bureau.

“The world is becoming more and more interdependent, which requires internationalization of educational processes. This is reflected by the expansion of academic contacts and study visits by your University, programs of integrated training and double diplomas with foreign partner universities.

“We share the spirit of your University’s motto: “Preserving Traditions, Creating the Future!” Hence, you harmoniously combine the most worthy of the past and present to serve the future.

“110 years is just an eye blink on the scale of eternity. However, for all of us it is a significant timespan. I wish all the best to you – new accomplishments in the academic field, personal success and sound health!” said Oleg Kobiakov.
