Would you like to start your career with the UN? Or maybe you have dreamt of advancing your career within the UN? Then, this is your chance! Don’t miss the opportunity to become a UN Volunteer!

 

Currently there are ten vacancies, including seven at FAO, that are offered by the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. This is a unique opportunity for Russian nationals to gain international experience and help the UN address the challenges of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals around the world.

 

FAO recognizes that youth are already at the frontline to build more sustainable agrifood systems and are best placed to rejuvenate the sector, acquire the knowledge and skills needed to innovate, uptake new technologies, and spearhead the digital transformation.

 

In FAO, the selected on a highly competitive basis UN Volunteers from Russia for 2024-2025 will serve for one year in various countries to contribute to achieving SDG 2: Zero Hunger in line with FAO’s “four betters” principle: better production, better nutrition, a better environment and a better life, while leaving no one behind.

 

Assignments for Russian nationals at FAO in different areas of expertise are available in seven countries – Egypt, Ethiopia, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Belarus.

 

For all positions general minimum requirements are:

 

  • UN Youth Volunteer assignments: 0-3 years of experience, up to the age of 27, bachelor’s degree.
  • UN Volunteer Specialist assignments: 3 years of experience, at least 27 years old, master’s degree.

INTERNATIONAL UN YOUTH VOLUNTEER (young people from 18 to 27 years old with less than 3 years of professional experience):

INTERNATIONAL UN VOLUNTEER SPECIALISTS (professionals who are at least 27 years old with minimum of 3 years of experience):

This assignment is funded by the Government of the Russian Federation, therefore specific criteria apply. Please read carefully each vacancy before applying.
