Climate change compromises our ability to secure global food security, leading to growing poverty and the prospect of attaining long-term development.Together with FAO, Italy is contributing in the mitigation of the effects of climate change, by helping transform agri-food systems towards greener and more climate resilient practices.

As a partner in FAO’s Green Cities Initiative, Italy helps enhance the livelihoods and well-being of people living in urban and peri-urban areas and spurs Italian cities to go green. The initiative focuses on improving the urban environment, strengthening urban-rural linkages and making urban systems more resilient.
